Default Fuel filter, where?

Where is the fuel filter on my 95 g9? Is it attached/connected to the bottom of the fuel tank?

Yep, it's inside the "cap" on the bottom of the tank that the fuel line comes out of. Some sadist designed that bugger.....Drain fuel, squirm under there and take the cap off with much cursing, while angry take that filter off the cap and throw away, never to be replaced. Now feeling better, put a filter in-line between the pump and the carb.

thats what I did removed that element, used a inline as a pre-filter to the pump then a secondary to the carb after the pump. found it easier to just pull the tank out,put it on its side with very little gas spillage..

That sounds like a great idea of removing the orginal filter and installing a in line filter. Thanks!

Does the fuel pump run on a vacuum to pump the fuel?
