Brake locked up but getting voltage
Good afternoon to everyone!
Ok... Started smelling brakes, so I did some testing and came up with that I needed a new brake. Ok, put the new brake on and no go, still locked up... Switch in Tow position, key in N position... If I measure voltage at the brake I get the same voltage that comes from my batteries, but brake is locked, no movement. But, if I jump wires directly from the batteries to the brake, it releases fully... Sent from my SM-S908E using Tapatalk |

Re: Brake locked up but getting voltage
How are you measuring the voltage? Measure across the two pins. If each has the same voltage relative to battery negative, then the brake itself has no voltage across it.

Re: Brake locked up but getting voltage
As volt says, measureing between the two pins at the brake. Negative for the brake is coming from the controller. If any fault detected during the self test, it won't release. Danaher or Curtis cart?

Re: Brake locked up but getting voltage
Follow the mechanical brake test in the Danaher Troubleshooting Guide, page 32-33.

Re: Brake locked up but getting voltage
Ok, measured several ways.
Switch in Tow mode, key in N position, brake is removed from motor and unplugged Test across both pins in connector, same voltage as batteries. Negative lead connected to battery -, positive lead on tester connected to grey wire pin, same voltage as batteries. Positive lead connected to battery, negative lead connected to black w/white stripe, same voltage as batteries. Am I testing correctly in all 3 scenarios? Sent from my SM-S908E using Tapatalk |
