I have a bicycle speedometer that has been checked for accuracy with GPS more than once. I'm confident in its accuracy.
Cool so I am in the ball park then! I have no idea if the clutches are working fully or not. I did have the driven clutch off because one of the sheaths was cutting through the rivets. I also noticed at that time that the bushing was not nice and smooth. Do you have any idea what the clearance should be on that bushing? I could easily make a new one. Still that is a warm weather project, right now I still have plowing to do. And if we get any more snow, even more to do, so not taking it "off line" till probably April or May.
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated!

Mine goes about 21 on a good day, and almost everytime mine spins it snaps axles, so I'm guessing you are doing pretty good if it stays mobile lol, but you could try to run a cold air intake type system so it'll breathe a little better. Maybe higher octane fuel mine likes the 91

I have dyno'd many engines, and we have played with things like plenum volume, CR, octane, etc. Running more octane than the engine requires will lower HP and Torque. Higher octane fuel burn more slowly, so if 87 allows you to run the timing the engine likes best, going higher will reduce output.
The cold air is a good idea, every 18 degree drop (F) in temp is good for about 1% increase in power. But the plans I have for the body won't allow that, yet! Designs have a habit of changing, so that may wind up in the mix. It will be interesting to see if the digital CDI box I put on gives me anything other than super easy starts. Next time is snow, will have to go out and see how fast it will go. Maybe time it this time too. Wish I could use my G Tech Pro on it. That is a 3 axis accerometer, but it needs the noise from an Alternator to detect engine RPM, and without that AC noise, it won't read RPM, and if it does not read RPM it will not record times, speed, etc. (it calculates speed based on acceleration).
