Default Need help seating Armature

Have a series motor and can’t figure out how to keep brushes back to seat the Amateur.

Any tricks ???

You can “park” them by pulling them out until the spring is on the side of the brush instead of the back. You have to take off the motor end cap which holds the brushes.

Yeah, you do. It’s not that hard. Be extra careful when you are loosening the motor studs. You have to use two wrenches. If you turn the studs, your motor is done.

Yes motor is already out and knew that, hoping my armature isn’t damaged or bad.

This is from a GE motor on a Club Car.
This plate has the brushes "parked" and ready to install.
Move springs to top of brushes when installed.
Your motor may look different but the concept should be the same.
