Default 36-48v conversion - DCS to Series - Wiring question

Good morning all! I believe I've gotten myself into a wiring snafu and maybe could use some expert help! TIA for anyone's input!

I purchase a 1995 EZGO medalist 36v cart. At the same time, I came across a used alltrax axe4844m and a D&D 170-003-001 series motor. I purchased everything in a package deal, then got into the fun bits. I purchased an upgraded solenoid, went to 2 gauge battery cables,

-Turns out, the Medalist was a DCS, not series.
So now my questions begin.

-As I am replacing the motor and controller, does it really matter?
-If not, then the only real question I have is the appropriate wiring:
--How do I wire the current throttle & key switch in?
---My throttle has red/white/green/black
---Key is just the 2 pole key standard switch
---My Forward/Reverse switch from the original 36V setup should work the same on this new setup or will I have to purchase a different switch since this was from a DCS setup?

Pictures for some reference. Original controller... then a pic of the cart on its side just to show off my efforts of scraping rust and painting the bottom :)
It all just feels like a lot of wires.. but I'm more than capable of the wiring if I know exactly where they need to go!

Thanks again guys.. great resource for many of my other questions as I've been lurking in the background lately!

As a note, I am also attempting to email to get a solution with Alltrax, but I understand I'm not doing a standard controller upgrade so they may not have the exact answer.

Here is link to the Alltrax diagram https://alltraxinc.com/wp-content/up...T-Wire-Dia.pdf

Just use the wires coming from the key switch and foot pedal box and wire them in. You will need a series fnr switch

Would the 36v fnr switch work? (~100$ on Amazon)

For that money is there a better alternative? Aftermarket?

Do you have a link to one you suggest? I want to get the right thing to make this project last.

Any suggestions or offers to purchase a part are well appreciated, looking like up over 150$ once I buy each individual part new to build a complete direction selector for the setup.

Check out the sponsors for the site. Looks like a few are out of stock.

Got it, already emailed with Scotty and he's pointed me in the right direction for a reversing contactor. Since I don't have any of the existing mechanism, it's not that much more expensive for me to go to this and seems to provide better longevity and ease of operation.

Can anyone comment on anything I may run into wiring this up to the AXE and heavy duty solenoid? I think now that I've deleted everything DCS it should wire up just like a standard series cart, right?

I think you are as prepared as you can be. The SW202 kit will provide the F&R device, a solid mount bracket that bolts to the floor in the OEM F&R holes with the bolts we provide. The kit has a switch and switch housing. You need only provide a little 16g wire for the control circuit wires. GL
