If you put a rearend dif on the front wouldn't that cause damage when you stepped on the go peddle and squish the buggie or tear it apart if going in reverse?

Throw some aluminum wire in a spool gun and gas generously with argon/CO2 mix. Cast metals are a beech to weld, but it can be done. If it were mine, I'd give it a shot. What have you got to lose? The thing is wasted anyhow.

I'm not sure welding Aluminum with mixed gas is right but no matter,
A competent welding shop should be able to re-align and weld it up possibly with the gears still in it.
Worth at least a general inspection from them.

Axle tubes are just plug welded into the houding.
