Default Clutch Question

I have a 1996 Gas EZGO with Honda 23HP big block. It appears either the tranny or the clutch has gone out.

1. How can I tell what kind of clutch is on there?
2. Is diagnosing the clutch as easy as seeing if the belt "tightens up"?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Take a look at the rear hubs. I bet the axle is turning and the brake hub is not.

So if brake hub is not turning, where should I go from here?

It is a common issue on the EZGO that the splines on the brake hubs strip out. If this is the case then you will need to replace the defective one (although you should probably replace the other one as well). They are not that expensive and when you fit them tighten the nut to 140 ft lbs and then tighten further until the castle nut aligns with the next hole in the axle.
