Default had the cart running great THEN heard a TINK today...

had the car running great finally then today i go to ride around town.. got about 10ft then heard a TINK.... cart wouldn't go... turned it off and pushed it back....

later this afternoon jacked the cart up, took the motor out, tore it down... and found what the TINK was...

a piston ring had broke anddddddddd here's the results:

part of the piston broke off and landed in the crankcase.... LUCKILY the motor wouldn't turn over once the piece fell into the crankcase....

got a new piston en route... while it's all out going to coat the engine bay area and repaint the motor.. might as well

going to use about 6 cans of carb cleaner to deSLUDGE the motor too... that sucker hasn't been touched since 1984 it looks like!!!

Id say you can run a piston that goes up and down. I dont think you will notice much from port and polishing it(more than likely just ruin the motor). If it messed up the cylinder you might need to get it rebored and honed.Or did you order the cylinder and piston?
