Default Early 90's EZGO Marathon Gas

I am looking for some direction trying to adjust my governor on my early 90's EZGO Gas Marathon. Not very technical. Can someone out there explain to me how to adjust my speed governor on my cart so that it will run faster? Thanks!

Govenor is in rear at end of throttle peddle cable with a spring bracket. A threaded rod is inside with a spring and a nut or knarled knob to loosen or tighten the spring pressure. the more you tighten the spring, the more speed. Do not try and go so the engine will whine out to high as they only will run so many Rs before a boom. This is if you have the 3pg engine 2 stroke.

Yes I have the 3pg 2 stroke. And thank you for the reply. I was reading another forum where someone was describing a lot more steps to this. Saying to adjust the engaging switch behind the key, change the linkage of the throttle and a bunch of other things. Should any of this really be necessary?

Redcloud. Am I to tighten The spring from the front side of it facing the nose of the cart where there is nothing connected, or am I to tighten it on the rear side of the cart where the throttle cable is connected?

Tighten the nut/knob that is in front. The other cable adjust is for cable. If you tighten the spring with the nut/knob you make it so the gov has to work harder to pull back throttle.
