Grammar Help!
Help us help you! Use good grammar and spelling so we know what you're talking about!
Your and You're Your shows possession, as in it belongs to you or who you are referring to. In sentence: Your new truck is very nice looking! You're is a contraction of "you" and "are." It is like saying, You are... but in condensed form. In sentence: If you're going to the store, pick up a bag of chips also. INCORRECT USAGE: X Your going to be banned if you post spam. This is like saying that you have a "going to be banned if you post spam." To, Too, and Two To is usually showing the direction of an object or the noun (person, place, thing, or idea) being affected by something. Too is just a replacement for the word, "also." It usualy means "in addition to." 2 is Two COMMAS COMMAS COMMAS Without these (,) simple little objects, our language is unreadable. A sentence with no commas, when it needs them, is called a "run-on." EXAMPLE Jane is going to the dealership to try out an Acadia Frontier Tacoma Tahoe and Outback. >CORRECTION: Jane is going to the dealership to try out an Acadia, Frontier, Tacoma, Tahoe, and Outback. There, Their, and They're There is a place. In Sentence: We went there for 11 days. Their is another possession word. In Sentence: Do you like their dog? It bit me! They're is a contraction, just like you're. It is like saying "they are." In Sentence: Since they're getting a Rhino, we might as well get one too. Were and We're Were is the plural (in reference to more than one) past tense of "are." In Sentence: We were going out, but it started storming. We're is another good ol' contraction. It is like saying "we are." In Sentence: We're going out now, it stopped storming. Last edited by NO NO NO E-Z-GO!; 10-03-2007 at 09:19 PM.. Reason: Know grammar but not BB Code...LOL |

Forget learning english, pretty soon us american are going to have to learn spanish if we want to communicate with half of america. Or we can boot all the illegals and continue speaking ENGLISH.
