I'll throw in a extra Poppycock about them not being Golf Cart batteries.

The OP posted a picture...where does it say golf cart battery? They might call them that but they are not up to par with Trojan or Powertron from what I have personally seen.

I'm not arguing with your personnel experience, I simply Googled the part number that is clearly visible in the picture and that lead me straight to the Interstate website where Interstate clearly calls them Golf Cart batteries and the specs listed are directly comparable with other GCB...

Just to add a little clarification here. I am the OP. This precedent has a factory reducer on the cart.

All those small wires you see in a picture, are my jumper wires that i was using to bypass the obc.

The only wires on any batteries , besides the cables, is the fat blue accessory wire .

The add says golf cart on it, and their part # is GC----?? This is the 2nd set of interstates to fail. 1st set lasted 2 years, this set is 14 months old.

I just installed a new obc and also a new set of trojans.

Ultimately this is about what I would end up doing too... While Interstate is supposed to be a good battery if I'd had bad service from them twice then I'd shy away from them too. The only thing I'd have done differently would have been to bypass the OBC and gone with a DPI Accusence charger.

Interstate makes great auto and Marine batteries...there SRM-27 deep cycles are great batteries for sprayers and other stuff. However they fall short in the golf cart battery dept like Deka and a few others that start to move out of there specialty of constant charge lead acids

If the problem was being triggered by the 2 batteries taped for accessories, it did not matter what battery was installed in the cart.

Interstate is the No. 1 replacement brand battery in North America worth over $1 billion, so they are either fooling everyone, or the batteries were never the issue here.
