will not run full throttle w/ sevcon controllers
So I'm working on a Bad Boy Buggie (I know they have a rep, I didn't buy it). It is the shop cart at LSU Mechanical Engineering Dept.
It is a 2009 Classic, 4WD with two Sevcon speed controllers. The gas pedal recall has been preformed. I'm not too familiar with golf carts, however I am familiar with some electronics as well as small vehicles in general. The problem is that it will not go full throttle. It will creep around anywhere below full throttle (slowly). If you go full throttle it will try to for a second and then just die. The batteries are fully charged. When this happens you have to shift it out of forward and then back into forward for it to go again. It does the same thing in both forward and reverse. The Sevcon speed controllers have a solid green light when it is creeping around, but if it dies they start flashing (seems like only one flash on and off if I am looking at it correctly). One flash corresponds to a personality out of range based on Sevcon's trouble shooting guide. I'm lost as to how to test anything else. In my mind I feel like it is something with the speed controllers, or maybe the solenoids? Thanks for any suggestions or help |
