club car ds 48v only runs wide open
i have a 48v club car ds serial #A9516-431818 i have recently put new motor and f/r switch in and a new v glide and for some reason it only moves as if the accelerator is wide open no matter where you move the pedal it only goes full power as soon as the solenoid clicks

Re: club car ds 48v only runs wide open
Check the throttle signal at the controller and see what it is getting from the v-glide. I assume (hope) it is a 3 wire MSP (5k-0k), but thru the 16th week of '95 (yours is) they were putting 0k-5k throttles in them.... (Oh boy!!)
If you put the wrong v-glide in there with the same controller, it would do what you are seeing. |

Nole, if that was the case, would the throttle work in reverse? Slower as you get farther down?

Re: club car ds 48v only runs wide open
That looks like the problematic failure of the discontinued 0-5kΩ throttle.
If there is a break on the resistance path the controller would interpret the open line as full throttle. You said You put a new VGlide, did it come with the small resistors on the back or did You transfer the ones from the old VGlide? |

Re: club car ds 48v only runs wide open
im not sure what resistors you are referring to this v glide that i swapped out is just a black housing with small wires that have small connectors on them. is there supposed to be resistors in line with the wires?

Re: club car ds 48v only runs wide open
The side the wires connect inside the VGlide (Multi-Step-Potentiometer) should look like this (You can see the resistors between the studs):
You likely have 0-5k throttle if still using the original Controller. Are Your two throttle wires connected to the correct places as shown inside the VGlide? Edit: Added the diagram for the 0-5k throttle since it is the only type that fails wide open. |

The one he needs is for early 1995 48 volt, and 1993 and 1994 36 volt solid state carts.

Re: club car ds 48v only runs wide open
my v glide has a black cover over the back side of it so i cant see anything inside it. do i need to try to pull it off and look inside that cover?
