I am sure when I first turn it on, the soleniod clicked liked normal... but since then, after messing with it and such, checking the batteries and all connections I think it might have tried once. Other than that, it does the same thing... dash light flashes on the lowest setting in sequence with the red light on the DCX controller.
The Alltrax controller will flash a sequence. We need to know if it is 3 or 4 or ? how many times it flashes before a slight pause and starts again..... the pause is subtle.
THen you can go to Alltrax site and read what that code means or post it here ...

Ok,
Here is what I have:
It appears to be a Howell Spirit controller
(something)- 4HP #ZQ 48-30B-T
0-5K ohm Throttle

It flashes 6 times, then a pause before 6 flashes again.

At the Alltrax site, it says 6 flashing on controller means undervoltage... meaning batteries could be bad... I checked the voltage to each battery and it was reporting over 9v on each... I apologize for sounding dumb, but I would think this would mean the batteries are ok?

From the alltrax website......

Trouble Shooting:
Error code display:# of RED blinks indicates any error conditions that might
exist:

1 Red = Throttle Position Sensor Over Range. Check for open wires.
2 Red = Under Temperature. Controller below -25C
3 Red = HPD. Throttle hasn't gone to zero during this power on cycle.
4 Red = Over Temperature. Controller over 95C
5 Red = Not used
6 Red = Battery Under Voltage detected. Battery V < under voltage slider
7 Red = Battery Over Voltage detected. Battery V > over voltage slider

CHeck battery voltage at the solenoid and at the controller

OK.. If I am checing the right spots here goes:
Switch off
Ground off battery to front of soleniod - 50v
Ground off battery to back of soleniod - 44.5
ground off battery to controller B+ - 44.5
ground off battery to controller M- - 42.5

Switch on
Ground off battery to front of soleniod - 50v
Ground off battery to back of soleniod - 7.34v
ground off battery to controller B+ - 7.34
ground off battery to controller M- - 7.1

Does this point to a bad solenoid?

I bypassed the solenoid and my controller went green and the cart moves forward and reverse... depending on the switch postion....
I am going to try and order a replacement solenoid... where would be the s
best place to try and find a replacement?

You did good. You have an upgraded controller so youwill want an upgrade solenoid also. Check the sponsors.... what was the amperage of the controller?

The solenoid shows it is a M25-400/013..
Here is a close up photo from the Alltrax site:
http://www.alltraxinc.com/images/L-DSCN37322.jpg
Looks like that is what I need.. I found one on ebay but would rather deal with a company someone has experience with....
Thanks for all your help thus far...
