Default 83 ezgo resistor cart wiring diagram

I have been running the cart for 3+ years . Just replacing resistors and some cables and was just double checking everything . I'm getting thrown off because my emp motor leads are s1, s2 , and l1, l2. The closest diagram shows A1 going to the resistor then the wiper board . Witch is not how mine is? I'm just making sure it is how it should be.

Any diagrams or ideas http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-diagrams.html

There is more than one way to wire this but, to be safe contact EMP and ask for a diagram to wire your motor to the 83 Ezgo.

In the wiring diagram in the stickys/ the link you posted- A1 goes to the F/R switch, not the resistors then the wiper board, what diagram are you talking about ?

The difference between wiring diagrams and schematic diagrams strikes again.

A wiring diagram shows the physical layout of the wires and a schematic shows the electrical layout.

Stud-4 on the wiper board, Stud-4 on the coils and Stud-A1 on the motor are electrically the same point, but appear to be connected in series on the wiring diagram.

A1 on two of the three different schematics I have for a resistor cart are connected like the wiring diagram posted. (Like Scotty said, more than one way to wire it)

Attached is one where A1 is connected to F/R switch alone.

As mentioned, it would be best to get a wiring diagram from EMP showing exactly how their motor is to be wired in your cart.

As I work in mccs every day your right its not complicated. When you have a drawing that is correct there is no reason to do it another way just because you can. I'm just wondering why they have a few different drawings for the resistor carts .

Likely because there were many manufactures, each with their own engineers. Much like the similarities and yet differences in automobile wiring of the same vintage.
