Default 91 club car. Rebuild?

Hi guys,
I just bought a 91 gas club car. The motor is out of thr car. The previous owner said it smoked and was going to rebuild it. Got everything home today and removed the head and the piston is gone. I want to rebuild it but noticed there is a lot of play in the connecting rod that is still attached to the crank. Is this a problem?

Ok so I said screw it and removed the side case from the engine. Kinda glad i did. Besides all the gunk in the bottom the PO dropped a few nuts down there and the retaining rings for the wrist pin!!! I removed the connecting rod from the crank and I assume they dont use bearings there. The connecting rod is pretty gulled up and a lot of aluminum on the crank. How do I clean the aluminum from the crank without damaging the crank surface? I read on here someone said acid and then polish but what kind of acid or another method?

Yes, the KF82 motor in your cart does not use bearings on the crank journals.

Your crank journal where the connecting rod mounts is likely egged out. You can send your crank and a new rod to J&M Golf Carts and they can re-machine them.

Not sure, but they're not anything special. I had bolts in my three-hole puller that matched them when I pulled mine.

VC460 is only $600 but I hear ya. I suggest a BB to everyone because I want them to experience the same rush I get.
