Question KF82 vrs KF82G-X

OK, so before I figure out if this can be made to fit my DS cart, I need to figure out if I can get the parts to get spark again. I suspect that it takes the same coil assembly as the normal KF82 but I really have no idea. Someone else here had one that was new a few years ago but I don't know if someone made it work on a cart or not. This is the exact engine I have without a spark. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...d-kf82g-x.html Also, the last I knew the KF82 was hard to get ignition parts for. Has someone come along with reasonable costs for ignition parts or is it still find a good used one and hope for the best?

The coil for the 1984-1989 KF82 motors was always the hardest part to locate, but they seem to be more readily available now than they were just a 3-4 years ago:

It is said that the 1984-1989 coils are better than the 1990-1991 coils because the newer coils have an internal rev limiter that can hinder performance. I'm still looking for someone to share a thorough breakdown of this. I've only gathered bits and pieces of information over the years.

Kind of pricey, is there a test procedure to see if the ignition parts are within tolerance on resistance or anything? hate to spend that much on just a guess because I have no spark. could have a short somewhere, would hate to replace and still have no spark. lol

Thank You! I will feel much better about buying parts if it's more than just a guess.
