Default aftermarket air intake carb tuning issues please help

Hi guys,
So I have an aftermarket air intake on my 1994 cc ds, not by choice.
My cart didn't come with a factory air box. So I'm stuck with this.

The only way to get the cart to start is to put my hand tight to the carb, then the cart will idle. When i remove my hand (regardless if i push wot) the cart will choke out and die.

The cart seems to be starving for gas and has too much air.
Would a larger pilot and main jet solve this issue?
If yes, what sizes and where can i get them?
Or is there a better solution?

I was looking at this carb jet (pictured).

Thanks again

Hand tight to carb? If I'm understanding you right, Sounds like you have the air filter removed so you can completely choke the carb by covering the intake to the carb?

I believe the cart should run without the air filter attached at all.

I would start by checking the function of the butterfly.

Then I would clean the carb and see if that helps.

Yes, the air filter is removed that way i can choke the carb to get the cc ds running. It's my understanding the club cars are very finicky when anything is involved with the air intake unit.

I fully cleaned the carb last night. reinstalled and no luck.

I am under the impression that when you put the K&N filter on you have to put that jet in the carb.

I'm with JD, carb needs cleaned better, disassemble & let it soak for a day or so, unless your jet is plugged I think your gonna have the same issue, I've had to clean carbs 3/4 times before getting them to work.. I've also got dirt to unlodge by cupping the intake multiple times right before it stalls.. good luck..

If you are completely covering the intake with your hand and the engine runs, sounds like you have an air leak somewhere.
