didn't we just discuss this above? What the difference is is that instead of stock length shocks with extenders, you are swapping out for shocks that are the correct length for a lifted cart (meaning 5" longer than stock with the same mounts, etc) ... While I have seen carts use the extenders (and get beat on pretty good, too) for years with no troubles, the longer shocks are always an option if you're not comfy with the spindly "look" of the extenders (not to mention, replacing 20+ year-old original shocks can't hurt, ya know?)

Yes we did. And I value your help and expertise. I Know that you have done several lifts on carts. But I like more than one Doctor's opinion before I do any surgery :) And when I asked the seller this question he did the politicians dance. He went right around it like I didn't even ask it.

I just installed last week the 5in. kit from ATV Expert. The only problem I had with the kit was the spacers for the rear shock extensions where to wide. Overall its a nice kit and simple to install. I did use the shock extensions not knowing about the longer monroe shocks. They seem to be fine but for an 86 I dont see where i would hurt to replace them. And if you do go this route disconect the fuel line like others said. I got lucky that it was rotted and tore in half.

Heres some pics of the before and after the kit.

Stock 18in tires on 8in rims. (Bling Bling)

20in tires on 10in rims with no lift. (They rubbed on uneven ground)

And lifted.

yes, those are the replacement shocks that will fit your lifted cart without having to use the shackles that come with the lift kit

OK I have bounced around so much that I wanted to be real sure that this is what you said I "needed" :) At least that's my story to the boss, and I'm stick-in to it ;)

Thanks for sticking it out with me on this.

no prob - and keep in mind that you will need to reuse your rear shocks bushings to mount the new ones (the hole size is slightly larger on the new shocks) - you could always buy a pair of sleeves at a tractor supply or ? but the stock bushings (provided they're not blown out) are free and can be reused.

Have fun removing the front shocks - they can be a pain in the butt (I know mine were, the threads on the shocks were a MESS after 23 years, LOL) - a preplan to soak the threads down the night before with some PB Blaster goes a long way!

Already soaking in PB ;) I wrapped a paper towel around the nuts and bolts and doused them in PB. That and my 1/2" impact should do it. I hope.

I really appreciate your help
