Steering wheel options?

Does any of the car steering wheels from autozone or the likes fit an early Marathon (pre-79)? If not, what are the options? I can always just get some cheap steering wheel wrap and be done with it, but if there's a cheap option for an aftermarket wheel that would be nice.

Hey Plumbergs,
I don't have an answer for you but I can tell you that I could not get my steering wheel off the shaft and reading threads here, it is no easy task. You might want to get the old one off before you buy a new one.

Thanks for the tip Dave. If they're that difficult to remove, I may just get some cheap wrap from walmart.

Putting a Grant on mine. They make adapters for golf cart columns so that really opens up your aftermarket sterring wheel options.

I read about how hard they are to remove so I started several days early spraying the nut with penertrating oil. Sprayed it at least six times over several days. I loosened the nut (not removed) wacked it three times with a rubber mallet and bingo it was off. Maybe I was lucky

I bought a grant wheel and it installed very easy. I got the one for 30 some odd $ with the chrome insert/spokes. fit great and looks better than the broke stock one I had. and they do have the kits for the correct spline fit.

Get a chain link steering wheel to go with those Cragar rims I pointed out to you. Before you know it, you'll have crushed velour all over the dash! I feel a '68 Nova mod coming on......
