Engine rarely starts.
When it tries to start it makes a noise like its trying to start but wont. When it does start and you give it gas the engine dies. Anybody know what might be the problem? Any suggestions to fix it? Golf cart is a EZGO ST Sport 2+2

Re: Engine rarely starts.
I'm not sure what type engine is in an ezgo .. but I would start by checking your oil level (needs to be at the appropriate level on the dipstick), check the air filter (needs to be clean), check or replace your fuel filter if it has one (your engine will starve out without proper fuel flow), Check your spark plugs for fouling or maybe you have one cylnder that is not firing at all (plug wires ok?). If you can do a compression check dry and wet on your cylinders.. that would tell you a lot if you have bad valves or worn cylinders indicating a worn engine. Maybe your governor is not ajusted correctly. Check for proper engine ground to frame. These are some places to start...
