I got my yamaha in the fall. It ran like crap. The person that had it never drove it much. I drain the fuel out of it. It ran lot better old time said fuel goes bad over time. Also before putting it away change oil, plug, fuel filter, rear end oil and filled fuel tank. I also treat with Stbil. It start right up. My have to pull carb may be gum up. I did a plow mans up grade. I put new jets in. I pulled carb off it was nice and clean.

Take off the gas cap, reinstall, see if it runs good for another 2 minutes. Can't recall if this model has a vent screen on the face of the fuel pump for sure? If it does, it is a bit smaller than the size of a dime. Make sure it's clean, brush it off with a tooth brush. I have run across a few bad fuel caps doing fleet maintenance work in the past.

Thank you for your response! Are you talking about the little brass fitting on the fuel pump that has small holes like a small sponge?

Yep, i wash them with brake-cleaner while cranking the engine until i can see the pump pulses in the "sponge" looking vent.
