Welcome to BGW!
Look at the left side of the cross tube in the rear. The ~2" diameter tube that runs side to side behind the tires. If you clean it off, you should find the serial number stamped into the tube.

I'd say it's a 1982 J17. J17 type solenoids, heat sheild on muffler, early style primary clutch and no air box/baffle on the back of the cylinder head. Look where 1989 Marathon suggested , it should start J17-******.

Ok I looked and looked but can't find serial number,looks like round tube that's supposed to be behind wheels might have been cut off to reinforce the installation of dump box. Here's a pic,white label on round tube ,right side says made in Japan.
