Default 2015 Club Car Precedent Gas transaxle issue

Hey everyone, really hope someone can help me out with the issue I'm having. I Have a 2015 CC Precedent Gas and the transaxle pops out of reverse immediately when you push the gas pedal. If you hold the shifter into the reverse position it won't pop out and backs up just fine. The cart drives normally in forward as well. I have tried adjusting the shifting cable and have checked full travel at the transaxle when the shifter handle is in reverse and that hasn't helped, I'm assuming it's something internal?

Mine was doing something similar recently, but in forward instead of reverse. The shift fork itself was badly worn and it was barely.engaging the synchro into the gear.

Yeah sounds like what these do when the bearings on the input shaft go bad, but usually they will pop out of forward and reverse. Also will make a lot of noise when moving. Sounds like your're driving an airplane.

There are other things that can fail as well but most of the time if it's popping out of gear the case needs to come apart to see whats gotten chewed up inside.

Did you remove the cable end from the shift lever on the trans and push the lever into both gears?
I know on some of the later models they got rid of the solid shift lever on the trans and went to a bendy flexible lever so it may not be obvious to tell if it's all the way in gear if yours has the bendy type.

Thanks guys, I did not remove the end of the cable on the transaxle, I will try that. Sounds like the next move is to pull it out and crack it open.

Mine does the same thing if i don't firmly **** it into Reverse. If it pops out of reverse you can't get it to hold into reverse unless you go forward then back into reverse. I suspect its an issue like Fairtax stated with a badly worn shift fork or syncro.

Mine was a worn shift fork. Theres a thread here somewhere I posted some pictures.

But first, disconnect the shift cable from the shifter on the transmission itself and manually flip it into gear. If it works fine, you can probably fix it with a cable adjustment. If it still pops out, you'll need to open her up and do a little surgery.

Thank you everyone for the advise, I finally got everything apart and was hoping someone can spot what's wrong. It doesn't look to me like the fork is too worn. There is play between the top gear and the second one, not sure if there is supposed to be? How do I tell if the synchro is bad? What parts should be replaced while it's apart, just because it's a good idea while I'm in there? The inside was very clean but I did find some remnants of something, appears to be hard plastic or fiber of some sort. Thanks again for any help.

I haven’t looked too close at the parts diagram for that axle yet. Did it have an Oerlikon ID sticker on it?
Hard to say for sure but it looks like there might be a thrust washer missing off the input shaft. That would let the gears walk on the shaft and cause it to pop out.

Never been in one of those so I'm really not sure... but has anybody been in there before? Repairs or HS gears maybe?
