Default G29 clutch noise

I have a 2011 Yamaha g29 gas with a lift and 23 inch tires, I am noticing a rattle at takeoff and low speeds that I believe is coming from the primary clutch. When going at higher speeds the noise is not present. I did replace the belt and that seemed to help but did not fully eliminate the noise. Are clutch problems common ? Is there anything else that would cause this noise ? Thanks in advance.

You'll have to remove the clutch to inspect it. Not really much you can do with it while it's on the cart. A worn out clutch "can" be noisy, and a broken part inside will definitely make noise.

I had a cart once that the clutch was making noise. I had just bought it and noticed the sound. Removed the clutch to find mud all packed up inside there. Seems the previous owner/driver tried to go "mudding". Cleaned it all out and it was fine. I think when I test drove it the mud was wet lol.

I also have a noise but it's a clicking sound, which might resemble the "rattling" you are hearing. A mechanic told me that it's the weights inside the clutch and didn't seem too concerned. Like you, the noise only occurs from say 1-10 mph and then is quiet from 11-24 mph.

Yes Those clutches have weights in them that sling out when accelerating and fall back down when coming to a stop...this is normal unless you are getting a very jerky start or stop which usually indicates a weight has slung and then needs attention.

Thank you all for the replies , I will remove and inspect the clutches. Hopefully one is bad so I can justify buying plowmans kit
