Idler spring broke
I was putting the idler and timing belt on and the spring broke. Can I just push on the idler pulley to get it tight? Or try to find a new spring it's on a 93 marathon robin

Re: Idler spring broke
While your right that the spring no longer comes into play once the tensioner bolt is tightened, I would not feel comfortable guessing at amount of tension the spring would put on the belt - in order to tighten it under correct pressure. I know it's a pain to stop and track down / order the part, but I would do it to make it right.
