Larger clutch belt won`t engage until engine hits a certain RPM...faster than starting speed.

Tightened up the carb... tried to fire it.. Here is my findings.. Be patient with me as I may not use the correct term..

on the crank output shaft..? on the motor side(driver side) is the pulley for the gen/alt... then the belt... then the clutch...

there seems to be some sort of large bushing which the clutch belt sits on..(between gen/alt pulley & clutch) this bushing is just spinning with the belt.. so motor just turns over & over with no go...

is that right..?

As long as the little belt is spinning the motor you shouuld start.... the big belt will engage later at a higher rpm as cart trader said? Does that help? If you still have the air filter disconnected you may have to reconnect it in ordere for it to start ..... CC were touchy that way? Did you use the choke this am?

Motor is turning over as it always has... just not firing...

How loose should the clutch belt be...? I' m sure I could slip it off without a problem..?

Doesn't sound right - can you post a picture?

Yes - the drive belt should be loose enough to slip off, if needed...

Yes - looks OK. Are you saying one side of the clutch is spinning and the other side isn't?

Everything is spinning on the pic I sent you....

the belt just spins up by the clutch... (in the pic it's the gen/alt pulley & a harmonic balancer?)

but on that shaft of the pic I sent you... below the belt is what seems to be a bushing on which the belt spins on...

But now that I'm thinking... I'm looking at the wrong problem... all this will engage later... (for example) if I were to take the clutch belt off... the motor should still fire up... and run as normal... just not move... correct..?
