89 marathon gas cuts off after 20 minutes

I have an 89 Marathon cart that will cut off after about 20 minutes of driving and then will start up after about a 10 minute cool down period. It will try to run but it sounds like the gas wont rev up on it. Any ideas????

When it quits,will the starter turn-over or does the solenoid just click?If it just clicks,The starter solenoid/relay is overheating.If this has been getting worse over time,its' a good indicator that the relay is on its' way out.Hope this helps.

No it actually turns over fine but it is almost like it won't rev up enough to kick in. I thought it might be the coil so i watered it down after it cut off but I don't know if it helped and then I releived the gas pressure on the tank and I don't think that helped either. Now it is even worse as it just putters now and won't really go anywhere. I think I will get a new spark plug wire and plug tomorrow.

Start with the basics,Plug,wire,ck spark,& make sure its getting fuel.Try a shot of starting fluid or carb cleaner,if it fires then its' a carb or fuel-pump issue.If the gas is old,drain the tank completely and add some fresh high-octane.Hope this helps.
