Lets just compare the best to the best for the simplest explanation. I will use Crown Battery specs.
6v CR225 = 225 amp hours x 8 = 1800 ah 8v CR190 = 190 amp hours x 6 = 1140 ah difference of 660 ah or 3.5 more 8v batteries worth of capacity. I hope this helps |

well ill take the extra amps, lead, and drive time over worrying about my extra 130 lbs of rolling weight. Scottyb made all the points i needed to go with the 8/6v set up.

So im building my mount and heat sinc for my new controller and HD siliniod. I found some scrap 3/16 aluminum plate laying around the shop, had to weld 2 pieces together to make the plate for the controller to sit on. I needed to lay down a few practice beads before jumping into it cuz im normally welding steel all day, i dont do much aluminum work, so be easy But welding aluminum is FUN!!!! Had the new Miller almost tapped out!

Now its time to build the mount for the siliniod. Again just some scrap 1/8 aluminum plate, but im gonna put a tight bend in it so im gonna need to Anneal the metal.
