Controller life questions
I didn't want to hijack the other similar thread so I started this new one.
I have a 1996 TXT with series motor and the F-N-R switch under the drivers leg. I bought the cart used so I am assuming the motor, controller, etc are original or are at least OEM replacements. There seems to be three "speed" positions on the accelerator pedal. A slow speed, a "medium" speed and wide open. I am wondering what speed position is easiest on the cart electrical system. Or does it not make any difference with my cart's electrical system type? Thanks for your answers. KIX |

Re: Controller life questions
I firmly believe that with a solid state controller, the position of the pedal (and by proxy the speed at which you are traveling) is not a concern since the job of the controller is to regulate the power flowing to the motor. Quite a few years ago, I had a customer that was literally changing resistor coils every 6 months on his cart because he drives at a crawl while spraying and trimming about 3 miles of hedge. We changed him to a solid state controller and he has never had an issue since.
I am sure others will chime in with their opinions. |
