resistors get real hot
I have a 1987 XI775 cargo hauler/titan 36 volt system. I replaced the batteries and made my maiden voyage this evening since I got the cart, yeah alright!!!! my resistor coils heated up alot. Is this normal? also I had no power going uphill. on flat ground was fine, come to incline and slowed to crawl. Later into the ride my cart is energized in high when I turn on the switch. It happened after my accelerator got stuck in high. When I stomped it to get it unstuck the cart stopped. I got it going again only to have it energized at all times after I turn on the switch and move the fnr lever to F or R. Any suggestions? 36 volt resistor cart with 5 pin accelerator switch 3 solenoid speed control with two resistor coils.
