Default Ezgo low rider electric

EZGO EXPERTS QUESTION PLEASE. A neighbor is thinking of building a EZGO low rider cart and for some reason? he wants to use the older style motor on the input end of differential ( like 3 wheelers used? ) set up rather than newer motor on top? I think he needs the extra room for compressor and tank so looking for WHAT YEARS AND MODELS OF EZGO USED THAT SETUP? Second question would this style be parts excessable or not?
Thanks so much for any help in this matter.

I've seen them used as late as the early 90's. The biggest issue I can foresee is lack of availability of parts. Expecially the motor itself. I take it that the tank he is planning on won't fit in the space under the drivers side of the seat on a TXT?

Goto the on road carts forum and look for the "My lowered E-Z-GO build" invite your friend over and grab some popcorn and let him read the thread. It will show him almost step by step how to do it on an electric cart with part numbers and everything. HOTCAT is the guys handle and if you post in his thread he will answer about every question your friend has.

I hope this helps.
