auxillary battery?
I see posts from guys that are using an extra battery to run extras. radio, lights, etc. What kind of battery are you using, where do you mount it, and how do you keep it charged?

Re: auxillary battery?
Not sure about the CC but on my EZGO, there is room under the driver's side seat. I also mounted a Harbor Freight battery tender in that same location to keep it charged. I have the battery tender wired together with the 100v plug for my 48v onboard charger so they booth charge anytime the cart is plugged in. I'm running a group 24 deep cycle battery. I used a plastic marine type battery box/holddown to secure the battery. Has worked out really well for me.
Here's a shot of my setup before we mounted the body.... |

Re: auxillary battery?
Mine is mounted in the bagwell. I went to Walmart and got the biggest deep cell battery they had (group 24 like Terry has). Put it in a $12 plastic battery box. I charge mine separately with a regular charger. I also wired mine to an 8 gang fuse block in the front for easy access to wire up accessories. During heavy use in the summer once a week is plenty to charge it......sometimes it goes 2 or 3 weeks.
It has worked out good for me....... |
