What studs are what?!?!
I can't find any diagram that will tell me which stud is S1,S2,A1,A2!!!!! Anybody know for sure?

Take a wire brush and start scrubbing. It's etched into the cap on the end of the motor next to the corresponding terminals. If you still can't see them, download a diagram for your particular vehicle. The posts will be labeled on the diagram. Just trace the wires out and match them up.

I've tried the diagrams and so far I can't find one that I can read the terminals on. I'll try to scrub it down!;)

Lock washers won't hurt. One good thing about using them is you do not have to tighten your connections as much and you reduce the risk of over tightening or stripping a stud.
