You can hear it click and start to hum...but the needle doesn`t move and even if left on for hours it`s not charging.

This is driving me nuts!

That's what I was hoping to do today at the local cart shop , but apparently they were closed all week to go to a golf cart conference somewhere out of town!

I don`t know anyone else with a 48volt cart.

Let`s just say it turns out to be the obc...is that something i can buy and install myself , or does it require a dealer to program , and also what should I expect to pay?

Yes you can install it yourself. They run $250 to $300.If your OBC is bad I would go a different route and not bother with one anymore. You can just buy a new charger with a built in computer like this one.

Cool , thanks for the info!

So it sounds like either way I should just get a new aftermarket charger? It`s either the charger OR the obc?

It sounds like it`s either the charger , and if so i need a new one... or the obc , in which case a new charger (aftermarket with built in cut off) will fix it...

Is this correct to assume?

That is correct. Call Scotty and he will explain on how it works. The computer is built into the charger and there is no need for an OBC.
