Default Club Car IQ controller upgrade to alltrax dcx600

I want to increase the torque and top speed of my '04 clubcar ds iq. I had the dealer install the speed code #4 with the claim of 19.6 mph, however gps now indicates a Level ground top speed of 15 mph, is this to be expected? Also the dealer told me that the part of the controller that controls regen breaking doesnt work (and I need it)? Could this aso have something to do with the lack of top speed? I'm wondering how accurate the ads are for the alltrax dcx600, specifically the claims of maximum torque and speeds up to 24mph with the stock motor. Is the install basically plug and play once I discharge the old controller and will I need to upgrade the stock cables? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes it is true, 24mph and no regen. Of course your results may vary by 1-2 mph. There are a lot of contributing factors.
Yes it is as plug and play as it gets & you should upgrade cables and solenoid with this speed controller.

So, if I do not upgrade cables and solenoid, should I expect bad things to happen or will it just not be quite as quick? Any idea how many feet of cable would be needed?

Is it possible to set up the dcx600 with the regen braking functional?

No, Regen is not an option with this control.

Think of the amps FLOWING from battery to motor.
The Controller is the gate valve
The cables are the pipes.

What do you need a 600 amp controller for, anyway?

Just for fun, are there any similar high performance controllers that are capable of regen braking?
