1983 Club Car Pop's Wheelies
Hi all,
My 1983 Club Car is popping the front tires off the ground Although fun its going to break something Here is what led to this dilemma. Cliff notes *Cart was slow up hills * Fine on level ground * Charges fine and all batteries read fine -------------> * Talked to the guy at the cart shop he said replace the solenoid on the passenger side (the last one). * It was bad the connector on the resistor side came right out * replaced the solenoid now it pops wheelies from the slightest touch of the gas pedal. Could this be a bad micro-switch for that solenoid? |

Re: 1983 Club Car Pop's Wheelies
MOAR info...
So I disconnected the bus bar, resistor, and white power lead from the last solenoid (the one on the far passenger side that I replaced). I left the wires on the small posts (green and yellow) connected. turned the cart on, F&R switch to Forward and pressed the gas slowly. The cart did not move, BUT..... I can hear each solenoid click loud and strong 1 2 3 4 5 as I press the gas pedal down to the floor. I'm confused..... Help! |

Re: 1983 Club Car Pop's Wheelies
In my 1st post, after I replaced the solenoid, I said the cart goes from no throttle to full throttle with no clicks.
Before I replaced the solenoid I would get 4 clicks and what I thought was normal speed except up hill were it would just crawl up the hill. With the current state of full throttle this cart really goes well and much better up the hill. I cant wait to figure out what is going on so I can fix it. |

Referring to the white power lead on the last solenoid.... Is it bolted to the buss bar or to the resistor coil? It should be on the coil side of the solenoid.

Re: 1983 Club Car Pop's Wheelies
Sounds like you are starting out in high gear... The solenoids all click but don't effect the speed? Very odd. Maybe you wired it wrong?
Jack it up and see what the wheels do with each click, they should do nothing on first click, then slower to faster on the next 4 clicks. |
