Charging Batteries out of cart?

I'm planning on storing my cart in my toyhauler this winter. Trailer is going in inside storage and I won't have access to it for 6 months. My question is, if i remove the batt's, can I charge them individually with a 12v charger once a month? Will this cause any issues when I reinstall them?

I charge mine fully check level and disconect leave in golf cart stored under tarps till spring, have had no problems

Really? Ok, well they are older batt's but still work excellent. I just worry they will discharge beyond the point of being recharged.

I'm soooo jealous of your toy hauler!

IF... you have 4-12V batteries... sure, you can!
But, it's kinda' really not worth the back breaking work as long as your batteries are in decent shape!
With my 48V (6-8V) I gave them a full charge, unplugged the charger, then plugged it back in again until it shut off,
then I flipped the switch to "tow", disconnected the + and - for the whole pack and left it for the winter,
in spring, I hooked everything back up, and gave it a full charge again, and never had a problem!
It's a standard Club Car storage suggestion! But, others may do things differently!

One thing I should've mentioned is I live in Upstate NY and the temps will be below freezing for a good part of the winter. Any issues taking that into account?

I'm in North East Wisconsin... I know a little bit about cold winters!
We sometimes get to 20 below for a couple weeks in February!
As long as ALL of the batteries are in decent shape, have a really good charge,
and the pack is disconnected to prevent voltage drain, amazingly, they won't freeze!

Here is another $0.02. I would fully charge my pack then connect two batteries together to make 12 volts. Now buy three of these

and you can leave them all winter with piece of mind. BTW Harbor Freight are always running coupons so you should pick them up at $4.99 each.

Not a bad idea Dave, but he has a 48V cart, not 36V... so the float chargers probably won't work for him!
besides... it's being stored in a toy hauler, inside a storage unit... probably, with no access to power!

Now I see the 48 volt part but I assume that he has 4 x 12 volts so I amend my post to 4 battery tenders and don't join two batteries together

but anyway I have been using these on an atv and a golf cart that I only use once a month or so and I can say that they hold 12 volt batteries at 13.2 volts and give me peace of mind at very little cost.
