As high as I have ever seen my meter when not charging is 51.0 (after full charge). Are you seeing these higher readings during the charge?

The 48v charger will typically take the pack up to 63v before finishing. The pack will then settle to 51v +/-

Lowrider - I'm seeing it during the charge.

Thanks ScottyB for clarifying. I don't think it ever got to 63v, but it probably came pretty close.

Thats good info to know. I have never watched whats going on while charging. I usually walk away after it starts, shuts off to do its thing, then comes back on.

I like to watch.

When I want to quickly boost the pack but don't have time for a full charge.....

Or if I doubt a charger is doing a good job....

Or if I doubt a pack is taking a full charge?

Lots of reasons to keep an eye on that meter

Scottyb,

I'll be using a SPST LED rocker switch to connect your battery meter to the battery pack. That way I can turn it off and on when I want (just a toy to play with ).

Can I wire the battery meter into a Blue Sea 5025 fuse block, (and then to the battery pack) or does the battery meter need to be wired directly to the positive and negative posts on the battery pack?

If you have any losses through your switch or your fuse block the meter reading will reflect those losses. USe a handheld voltmeter to test the pack and then the source you want to connect the meter to ...

Sometimes if it off say .2 volts you can just add that to whatever you read on the meter... or find a cleaner source.
