Default Won't go forward

A friend of mine has a club car DS that is up graded. Yesterday he brought it out to ride and it won't go forward. I runs in reverse and the clicks if forward but won't go. The only loose connection was one of the studs on the motor. Could the brushes in the motor have moved? It's a GE beast motor 12hp.

2001 48 volt.

We found the problem last night. We found that the forward reverse swith wasn't making good contact and melted the plastic which then got between the two contactors.
