08 Prece. 20.5" tire no lift?
I do not want to lift my new cart and the springs are good. I am going to be adding 2" spacers w/ 12" wheels and I have been told that anything from a 205/30-12 tire to a 215/50-12 will fit with stock suspension. I am new but have searched around and am looking for anyone with experience. Pics always helpful. Thanks

Re: 08 Prece. 20.5" tire no lift?
I have 205/30-12 with 2+5 offset and even though they hang out over wheel well there is still plenty of clearance. There are 2 things you have to take into consideration when purchasing tires with no lift...size of the tires and the offset. If there is no offset and the tires will sit under the wheel well your going to have less chance of rubbing except on the front tires when turning. 215-20 tires can work but the overall size needs to be 35 or less which means very low profile otherwise you will get rubbing. However if you add 2" spacers all the way around you may be fine.

Re: 08 Prece. 20.5" tire no lift?
I measured today and a 20.5 inch tire should fit. I am now looking at a 14" wheel with 215/30-14 tires. The company that sells them is promising a 20" even or my money back. I will have to take some pictures and see what you think.

Re: 08 Prece. 20.5" tire no lift?
Check my sig below to see my wheels. These are the widest I could find in 12" wheels and measure 18.25" diameter. I had to remove the external wire channel hump inside the passenger front fender to eliminate rub. That is a 5 min or less job. The wheels have a minus 40mm offset. Centered hubs would have negated the need for that minor mod. Also something narrower ie: a 205 or perhaps even a 215 tire would help as well. If you get a chance to see a mounted wheel up close when the steering is turned to the right, you will understand what offset and/or extensions do to the movement of the wheel in relation to the wheel well.
I don't have the ability to post pics off my iPad, but here is a link with pic of my cart. Sorry, it is not of the offending wire hump. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...size=960%2C720 |

Here are some Photos of the 12's with offset I pulled off my DS cart tonight and stuck them on my Precident (I am selling my DS). No rubbing. If You go to 20 inch diameter you will have to raise the cart most likely.

Re: 08 Prece. 20.5" tire no lift?
I can see 14's working with no offset since it wouldnt sit outside the wheel well. But even so would possibly hit in the front when you turn your wheels. If not its going to be VERY close. If the wheels have any offset there is just no way possible. With 205/30/12 tires I have 2" clearance so with 14" wheels that is gone. See the pics below to understand what Im saying. If you use 2" spacers under all the leaf springs it may work but I cant see how 14" wheels could be done on a stock cart doing no mods.

Re: 08 Prece. 20.5" tire no lift?
I also did the same measurements and after about ten seconds remembered that a 2" diameter increase only causes a 1" increase in radius. So, 2" clearance at the top of a 12" wheel will drop by 1" at the top of a 14" wheel. Not much in the grand scheme of things, though. That was the compelling reason for me to limit myself to 12's without a lift.

Re: 08 Prece. 20.5" tire no lift?
Thanks for the replies! All of your carts are awesome. I am taking the advice and going with a 215/40-12 rim. I believe that should be 19" tall and should fill the wheel wells nicely.
