Definitely melted. That's more than likely your issue. Melting comes from heat. Heat comes from poor or weak connections. That orange wire is frayed at the end and is a prime candidate for creating heat. Inspect and repair connections throughout the entire system and replace the switch and it should be fine.

Ok new F and R switch got cart moving but it now has no power runs really slow. Batteries should have been fully charged they have been on charger the whole time it was down. Thanks for the info about switch I'm really happy It is at least moving. Any ideas why it is running so slow this cart was pretty fast before it broke down.

Check the battery voltage with a meter. If it's weak, that can contribute to heat as well. Lower voltage equals higher amperage. Higher amperage equals more heat.

Thanks for all the help. It was the batteries causing it to run slow. Just got all new batteries cart runs like it used too. Sorry for taking so long to respond but holiday and home projects had me side tracked.
