Re: 1515 to 1268 conversion
The Excel cart harness is different from the previous models so the negative wires for the speed sensor and the "meter" negative black/yellow wire behind the dash don't match with the pins on the 1268 model.
It is a simple matter of running a new negative wire. FSIP provides a detail description of the process. You must have a Curtis programmer since the Curtis controller doesn't have any way for the end-user to program or modify settings like the Altrax controllers. Make sure You don't route any of the big cables over the region marked below or it will interfere with the controller electronics: |

Re: 1515 to 1268 conversion
You need to run a new negative to the speed sensor, just cut and tape the wire coming from the harness as it will not be used.
If You are using the black/yellow negative wire behind the dash, you need to disconnect it and tape it as it will not be used. You can then run a new negative wire to whatever you had connected to the black/yellow wire. No other negative wire in the Excel cart shares the negative wire from old Controller pin #3. |

Re: 1515 to 1268 conversion
As long as they gave you the 16-pin to 24-pin Controller conversion adapter it should not be too complicated.

Re: 1515 to 1268 conversion
Basically, anything on the vehicle that is connected to the 16P connector pin 3 (1515 GND) that isn't the throttle needs to be grounded directly to B-. In my time looking into these I have found it includes DC-DC converter, BDI, Charging Indicator, GPS module, and speed sensor. This ground net uses the purple-white wires in the vehicle and yellow-black wires in the dash.
The issue being the 1268 throttle low is not a true ground so leaving any of these items connected results in throttle faults, speed sensor faults, and HPD faults. |

Re: 1515 to 1268 conversion
yes I've got the 16 to 24 pin connector and all the misc bolts nuts etc, the guy I bought it from never opened anything its new and untouched , he had FSIP map it to his d and d motor thats the same motor that i have. he had the same yr cc as mine, so it should work fine on my cart, I hope

Re: 1515 to 1268 conversion
The headlight and other accessories negative comes from the bucket harness that is connected to Controller B-.
