ok so this seems to be my best option for now....

figure out where I can stuff two more 6 volt batteries to convert the cart to 48 volts
change out the solid state controller to the 48 volt one
upgrade solenoid & FNR switch

anything else?

Put in 6
8V batteries .
Guessing you have 6v batts that are good,
More weight & hard to find room
for 2 more batts.
Maybe someone here has a conversion.
