Default 2001 Lifted club car Pres

Can anyone give me some knowledge here. I bought a 2001 Club car and the batteries are brand new but my speed is slower then usual. What can I do to speed this up without spending a fortune. Also my breaks lock up with not to much force. What can I do here as well. Thanks in Advance.

Adjust the brake adjustment. You’re unlikely to speed it up without dropping some dimes.

You’re likely going to need either one or more of the following or a combination of these: Speed code 4 your controller depending on your cart year and type, new or respooled motor, new controller, new higher gauge wiring, new solenoid, new batteries, a 4x12 to 6x8v conversion, or even a different gear ratio in your transfer case. If you have a OLD DS you’re gonna need to go away from the resistor set up and to a solid state controller etc.

Any or a combination of the above would help increase speed.

What is the serial number of your cart. I don't think they made a precedent in 2001.

As for your speed you brakes are dragging, hard to go fast while brakes are applied. With cart in tow and FNR in n you should be able to push you cart real easy on level ground.

2004 was the first year for Precedents...
