Default Removal of nose emblem on 2003 DS

Our 2003 DS series cart has a small oval emblem on the nose with the italicized letters "IR" (see attachment). I would like to remove the emblem to affix a custom decal. Any recommendations for removing it without marring the finish underneath? Is it held on by an adhesive that can be softened with acetone or low heat?

Also, does anybody know what the letters mean? As usual, many thanks!

By the way, over the past couple of weeks I used the cart to haul a trailer with massive loads of seagrape logs and stumps more than a mile on unpaved roads to a chipping site. This low speed/high torque cart is a real workhorse. Who needs a tractor!

Heat gun would likely be your best bet to try first. Or a hairdryer.

It's just a sticker. Heat it up a bit, but not so hot that you melt the body underneath it. Any glue residue left behind can be wiped down with some Goof-Off. I will add this bit of info for anybody else reading this reply. Don't use Goof-Off on a Precedent. Use Acetone on a Precedent, and Goof-Off on a DS. Goof-off works better than Acetone, but it can't be used on a Precedent because it will destroy the finish of the body. DS and Precedent bodies are two different materials. One is "Armor-Flex" and one is "Surlyn"

The IR decal is the Ingersoll Rand logo. They own club car.

I'll be darned! Never would have guessed that! Ingersoll Rand has had a reputation as a great company. Goes a long way toward explaining the good design and high quality and of these vehicles.
