So this wasn't "normal" corrosion... batteries exploded or leaked. I guess that's a good thing.

My guess is... batteries died and cart was parked indefinitely. Probably never maintained.
Cart was used at apartment complex for property maintenance.
It was factory refurbed in 2010 so it only took 7-8 years to get that way.

Thanks...

Discussing with wife right now.

Obviously if there were ever a time to upgrade, it's now... but wife may not be onboard with a $600 500AAlltrax/400Asolenoid vs $150 for stock replacement.

We may sell this cart after it's back together... so I don't know what will add more value... stock vs upgraded.

I'll reply to your PM in a few minutes.
Hunch says she will like the $150 option best.

Yeah... and without a firm commitment to keep the cart long-term, it makes no sense to dump a bunch into it.

I'll probably just do a nice clean factory-looking rebuild and see where it goes.
I still need to pickup batteries, charger and a bunch of plastic. That's over a grand right there.

Actually the damage to the controller may be only cosmetic. Before you spend the money for a new controller, remove the corroded bolt on the B+ connection and see if the underlying blade can be polished clean. Damage to the surrounding plastic is almost always only cosmetic, caused by overheating of the attached cable.

I wasn't going to gamble. The corrosion got between the aluminum heatsink and plastic cover on the controller and started spreading it. I imagine it's probably inside the controller too.

I'm going to do a clean OEM frame-off restoration.
Just got it further stripped down this afternoon.

I think I will just keep updating this thread with my progress instead of polluting the site with multiple threads.

A few pics from this afternoon.

I now have confirmation that it started life as a PQ07 cart... refurbed in 2010.

It does have the MCOR throttle pedal... so not sure if that's an issue or not.
Now I don't know if I should be looking at 2007 service manuals or 2010 manuals.
