Default Factory Battery light removal

Attempted to search but no luck. I ordered a new dash kit (sentry) and wanted to know if I need to reinstall the factory yellow battery light on my 2014 Precedent. I read it's hooked up to the OBC but not sure if its only purpose is to notify you when the battery is low or does other functions and should just reinstall. I ordered a digital volt meter also. Thanks

For your purpose it is just as you described and for blink codes. Your year cart changed to an ERIC system that year too but you must have the OBC style it sounds like. I would keep it in the new dash.

Just install your DVM at the location of your choosing.

My charger is an ERIC charger so does that mean I do not have a obc?? And way to tell. Thanks

There is no OBC if you have the ERIC system. Your light is triggered separately and only for the 3 blink charging indication or low charge. Other then that, all of your trouble codes during charging are identified by the LED's on the ERIC charger.

Thanks for the clarification. So I assume I can just keep in installed but hide it behind my new dash panel or just disconnect all together.

Yes, any of the above - your choice.

If you have an E.R.I.C. charger (no OBC) it looks like the first photo otherwise your PowerDrive charger (that uses the OBC) looks like the second photo.
