That sounds similar.

You have the symptoms of a bad speed sensor or a cracked magnet. Pop the sensor off and look at the magnet and make sure it's not broken. While you're at it, I recommend replacing the magnet with a high speed magnet and replacing the sensor with a factory speed sensor for a GE motor. The high speed magnet will allow the motor to run a non-restricted top speed. Usually results in 20-22 mph or so. Can somebody tell him where to buy this stuff please?

I would go with Revolution Golf Carts. Their banner is right above this.

Thank you sir. Forum rules prohibit sponsors from advertising on the public forum, but I can always count on you guys to steer new guys in the right direction.

Thanks everyone, I'll try a new sensor & high speed magnet. Looks so easy to replace even a cave man could do it, so I'll set aside about 4 hours.....
Probably won't get to it until next week, but I'll post results afterward.

So unplug sensor wires & sensor just unsnaps?
I saw a DIY video & the guy removed 2 bolts, removed the sensor, removed 1 bolt & magnet came off. I slid under my cart & there ain't no bolts. It looks like the sensor snaps on/off? Then I started reading about horror stories trying to remove magnet.

I told y'all I was mechanically challenged...

If you don't feel comfortable doing the magnet swap, it's not necessary. If the magnet is in good shape, leave it. If it's cracked and/or broken, you have no choice. You have the GE motor. The videos you watched were the ADC motor. The speed sensor on your motor just snaps into place. You can gently pry outward on the large tab of the sensor with a flat blade screwdriver and pop the sensor out. The magnet is just beneath the sensor. The new sensor is just as easy to install. Just snap it on and plug it in. Just make sure you order the one for the GE motor.

Thanks. My cart currently runs 20+mph, so I dont think I would gain by replacing the magnet anyway. Hopefully my magnet is ok.

Your cart may have been programmed with the Private Speed Mode (Speed Setting 4). This will allow 19.6MPH speed on stock sized tires. The magnet won't give you much over this. If you're happy with the speed, just replace the sensor and you should be good to go.
