2006 Precedent wont charge new cart
Ok just bought my first golf cart so not to familiar. Anyway bought it not running the guy said it has just been sitting and needed charged. New batteries were put in back in September it has 4 12v interstate batteries. Came with a new charger made by Schauer model Jac1548H. The new charger was bought because he said his mother who owned the cart said it stopped working. So a new charger was bought and also new batteries. So I bought it knowing it was dead he said I could come back and try it when it was running decided not to. I took it home charged each battery individually enough to where the cart will moved but very weak. So I plugged the new charger up to it thinking it had enough voltage to where the charger would recognize it and nothing after leaving it on there for hours. The battery charger never charged indication lights just showed green power light on charger never changed to yellow which on top of the charger says means charging. The battery light on the dash does come on when I plug it in and flashes on and off maybe every 10 secs. My thought is maybe it’s the obc since it sounds like they replaced the charger after they thought it stopped working in which it might have been the obc the whole time And not the battery or charger. I do also have the original club car charger. I know it’s a long post just trying to give you all the info I know. I’m thinking maybe trying to bypass the obc? But every where I read people have 6 batteries and not 4 like mine so wasn’t sure if it would be the same process in bypassing it. So sorry for the long post but I hope someone can help me out thanks in advance.

Re: 2006 Precedent wont charge new cart
No difference in 4 or 6 for that purpose.
Be sure the main fuse behind the charge receptacle is not blown (you can check it with a continuity meter) and check the "sense" wire fuse which is inside the bullet connector (grey wire) that also comes off the charge receptacle. Read this thread if there are still issues after checking the fuses. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...eshooting.html And not familiar with that charger, but if it is designed to work with an OBC, then with it ir your Powerdrive Charger, just take the black negative wire coming from the charge receptacle and use a 10 gauge wire to run it to the main pack Negative (where the main black cable is connected that runs back to your OBC). Also take the grey sense wire coming off the charge receptacle and run it to the main pack negative also as that is needed for the Charger to trigger. |

Re: 2006 Precedent wont charge new cart
I talked to the seller he said he would pay to get it fixed or I can bring it back. Don’t think it’s anything major I’m going with the obc. So before I mess it I’ll just let him pay for it to be fixed.
